Reconciliation and Practice
REACH is committed to reconciliation. REACH Report Recommendation #4 includes the implementation of training for front-line staff who work alongside many individuals, families and communities. REACH intentionally aligns with the Calls to Action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada (1.3, 23.3, 27, 57, 63.4, 86 and 92.3) which provides cultural competency training that includes the history and legacy of residential schools.
Our training provides an opportunity for workers to learn and understand the history of Canada's colonial past and the Indigenous worldview that connects all of us on this land.
REACH workshops are eligible for Category A credits with the Alberta College of Social Workers if they align with personal learning goals and a Category A Summary Form is submitted in the personal portfolio.
